win win win! (: yeah boy!

cyber-bullying-figure_1Bullying. We’ve all bullied, we’ve all been bullied. It’s becoming a huge problem in America. Especially cyber bullying. Just typing something over the internet can destroy someones life. Something as simple as “(insert name here) was with (insert name here) in the supply closet!” Can go from the reality of getting something for a teacher too doing non-school appropriate things. According too cbs news 42% of teens have been cyber bullied! 21% of kids have received a mean or threatening email. That is ridiculous. A 13 year old girl named Megan Meier committed suicide due too cyber  bullying. A mother of one of megan’s former friends made a fake profile of a guy on myspace too gain trust in Megan too see what she was saying about her daughter. Josh Evens clammed to be a 16 year old boy who lived close by. After awhile, the sweet compliments became sour insults. Soon “josh” was posting bulletins about how “Megan Meier is a slut. Megan Meier is fat” Megan hung herself October 16th, 2006. Always think before you type. You never know if people can interpret something you say the wrong way. We all have been mad and talked about someone on facebook, myspace, whatever. Just remember.. 1) whatever you say, it will get back too them. 2) think about how you would feel in that persons place. Examples of cyber bullying: Sending a hurtful text too someones phone, sending a threatening email, spreading gossip in a chat room, uploading humiliating pictures and videos, sending hateful messages on chat rooms such as msn, and doing online voting polls for classmates(for example ugliest classmate, most likely too sleep around, biggest loser.. etc) Everyones life is worth it, and no one deserves too be put down. So next time you go too talk about someone, or write about them on facebook, or send them a nasty message, think about Megan Meier.

Excellent job on all three post. You have the an awesome ability to write and don’t give it up. I wish I had other students who put thier minds to a better use then petty jr. high things and write how they feel. I think it feels good to write what you feel to get it out of your head no matter if it is good or bad.

Thanks Dani for sharing your thoughts on cyberbullying. I hope that it does make more people think about the consequences and impact of it on the person being attacked.

And thanks for entering The Edublogger competition!
